About Dr. Van Dycke

Dr. Annelies Van Dycke is a neurologist with a subspecialty interest in epilepsy, headache disorders (with focus on migraine), and sleep disorders. She combines clinical expertise with academic and scientific activities.

Professional background
Dr. Van Dycke studied medicine at Ghent University and graduated with highest honours in 2005. During her neurology training, she also obtained a PhD in medical sciences with research on local delivery strategies using adenosine in an animal model for refractory epilepsy.
She further specialised in epilepsy at Ghent University Hospital and remains affiliated as an epileptologist with the Reference Centre for Refractory Epilepsy at Ghent University Hospital.
Since 2012, Dr. Van Dycke has worked as a neurologist at AZ Sint-Jan Bruges. Since May 2021, she has been Head of the Department of Neurology. Her clinical focus includes epilepsy, headache disorders, migraine and sleep medicine.
Dr. Van Dycke is the author and co-author of several scientific publications and regularly speaks at congresses and educational meetings.
